LITTLE ROCK — Camden-area residents are invited by the Plant a Seed Foundation and the University of Arkansas for Medical Sciences (UAMS) to participate in a July 23 conversation about health research.

The free session will be held from 11 a.m. – 2 p.m. at Carne Park, 955 Adams St., Camden. The event will include small-group sessions in which UAMS researchers talk about their work. For more information, contact Charles Moore, 870-807-3086 or mrcemoore@yahoo.com, or Nicki Spencer, ndspencer@uams.edu, or 501-526-6629.

“We hope this session and future sessions can help demystify the research we do at UAMS,” said Kate Stewart, M.D., M.P.H., whose research is conducted in partnership with Arkansas communities. “It’s critically important that people understand what we do because we can’t improve health without their help.”

As part of the conversation about research, residents will hear about research projects happening in Arkansas, and learn how individuals and organizations can be a part of research.

Sponsored by the UAMS Translational Research Institute, this public informational session will be its third and the first outside Little Rock.
